Come and join Sandra and Henk and their amazing camels for a comfortable ride along the incredibly scenic Smiths Beach in Yallingup. Trucks, utes, forklifts, trailers, trolleys and friends on foot have been busy. Ian and Beth Dowling of the Margaret River Pottery have sold the mudbrick and shingle building at 91 Bussell Highway to Jo and Genny Broadhurst. Jo and Genny have opened their Margaret River Galleries in the large space that was our studio making and firing area on the left side of the building. See their website for details. Ian Dowling's Margaret River Pottery continues to be displayed and sold in the right side of the building.

A new studio building for making and firing work is completed at Ian and Beth's home on Devon Drive, near Wallcliffe Road, Margaret River. This studio is private with no retail sales. Here Ian can focus on the making of pots and other projects. These include a functional stoneware production range in chun blue, individual gas and wood-fired pots and increasingly the development of large and small architectural ceramic projects.

The current projects include sculptural modular structures for private clients and a large textured tile waterwall for the new Margaret River Education Campus. In addition, Ian will work in Italy in mid 2003 for 2 months at Monash University's facility near Florence doing design and research for architectural ceramic projects. Brown Hill Estate
Brown Hill Estate is a small family owned and operated vineyard and winery. The vineyard and winery is situated 12kms south east of Margaret River on Rosa Brook Road. Brown Hill was established in 1996 with its first vintage in 2000. There are five varieties of vines planted: Cabernet, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Shiraz and Merlot.
